Amber Rudd MP joined the celebrations at Hastings Fire Station on Saturday December 2nd to mark 150 years of fire-fighting in Hastings.

Amber braved the machine that demonstrates the importance of wearing a seat belt, which recreates the feeling of a crash, Amber is pictured with Firefighter Martin Walker, before the machine started; she wasn’t smiling afterwards.

Amber said: “It was marvellous to see the station so full of inquisitive families.  I can understand why, I enjoyed learning about fire-fighting past and seeing the various demonstrations.  I particularly enjoyed learning about the difficulties of dealing with all the technology of modern cars.”
